    Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization to Develop Capacities in Ministry of Justice Program, Funded by the European Union

    AMMAN - January 20, 2016 -

    HE Minister of Justice Dr. Bassam Talhouni, EU Ambassador to Jordan HE Andrea Matteo Fontana and Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh launched a training program for employees of the Ministry of Justice, Judicial Council and Judicial Training Institute which will be implemented by Talal Abu- Ghazaleh Professional Training Group.

    The training program, implemented by Talal Abu- Ghazaleh Professional Training Group  was launched during an event at the Ministry of Justice as part of a comprehensive 4-year,  30 million Euros, European Union funded program that supports Jordan's justice sector.

    Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that he is honored with the selection of the Group by the European Union and the Ministry to implement this training program; stressing that he always seeks to apply the principle of partnership between the public and private sectors in implementation of the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. He praised the role of the EU in supporting many sectors in Jordan, indicating the importance of the justice sector and the continuous training in coping with various developments. He added that the Group is looking forward to working with the Ministry of Justice; their upper management, staff and the EU Project “Supporting Justice Reform in Jordan” through a solid and well balanced training program.

    Mr. Fontana announced that the first and second phases of the program were a success; the EU has transferred the first tranche of 5 million Euros and the second tranche of 6 million Euros to Jordan's treasury, as per the support program.
    The EU Ambassador further stated that this EU-funded direct budget support program is in line with the government of Jordan’s efforts and plans to reform the justice sector where training a more competent and qualified workforce, in line with current and future requirements of the sector, will help build on the sector's competences and improve the efficiency of services available to Jordanian citizens.

    Dr. Talhouni stated that this EU-funded program will help further modernize the justice sector, in order to increase effectiveness and improve access to legal services, build on the knowledge and experience of Ministry of Justice management and staff, and promote good governance and rule of law in Jordan with the support of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization.

      

    It is worth noting that through the project; specialized training will be provided to upper and mid management in the Ministry  to enhance knowledge, expertise and efficiency of senior management for the development of the decision-making process, establishment of a solid foundation to support strategic planning and operational plans for the coming years, building on the existing skills and capabilities,  strengthening the Ministry's capabilities in human resources and budget preparation, strengthening the administrative and institutional capacity, improving the capacity of the Ministry in the field of information technology to contribute to raising the efficiency and effectiveness of information technology management in daily work.
