    Abu-Ghazaleh Elected to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Humanitarian Fund Board of Trustees 

     

    DOHA – May12, 2016 -

    HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Islamic Council of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Humanitarian Fund (OICHF).

    His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Trustees/Chairman of the founding committee of the Council sent a letter to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, in which he stressed that his selection came after acknowledging his recognizable efforts in the field of the donor institutional work, as well as other charitable, humanitarian and community works.

    He added that his selection came in parallel with that of high-level leaders from the countries of the Islamic world and under the supervision of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in partnership with the Islamic Bank and the Islamic Solidarity Fund.

    Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed the decision, noting that TAG-Org is the largest global group specialized in the field of professional and educational services; expressing his hope that his participation in this Council will be centered in providing capacity-building services through what the Organization can provide to the donor institutions and their projects pertaining to training, qualifying, education programs, and in the field of quality sustainability and development − which the Organization already works in and outside refugee camps.

    Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed the group’s pride in providing the necessary professional, accounting, auditing, training, educational and managerial services through the Organization’s specialized partnerships, which include Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Consulting, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Training services, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Educational Services, and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Quality and Development Consulting services. He also affirmed the group's readiness to provide services through its offices in Qatar and across the GCC, as well as to the rest of its 85 offices in all countries of the world.

    The Council has multiple objectives to pursue, including the issuance of reports related to the achievements of donor institutions who are members in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the  launch of the capabilities  program in the donor institutions, and the launch and implementation of the ‘Professional Standards to Measure Performance Quality of the Donor Institutions in the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’ in addition to the partnership with governmental and private donor institutions in the member countries of the organization and abroad − with the objective to support community and charitable initiatives and projects.

    The main activities of the Council include: organizing “Maneh” [Donor] Annual Award, which is offered to distinguished donor enterprises in the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, organizing an annual conference on best practices in the field of outstanding donor institutions, supervising the OIC humanitarian funds Award "Insan", overseeing  the community’s ‘Smart’ Islamic Center initiatives, in addition to overseeing the Islamic program for capacity building and the standard of quality performance evaluation in the donor institutions.

    The humanitarian funds for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is one of the governmental institutions in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah - Saudi Arabia, and has an independent corporate entity. It contributes to finding sustainable solutions for humanitarian problems for the Member States of the Organization through feasible developmental projects. The headquarter of the Organization is in Qatar, with representative offices and partnerships in members states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and abroad.
