      08-Aug-2016 TAG-Consult Provides its Expertise to the League of Arab States for ISO Accreditation

      The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States requested Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) to provide complete support for its Arab Economic Integration Department in developing a quality management system (QMS) that complies with the ISO 9001:2015 specifications.

      This request by the Arab League of States comes in the context of trusting TAG-Org’s professionalism and efficiency in providing the needed expertise to support its work, and in turn the Arab Economic sector.

      HE Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al Tuwaijri, the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs sector, sent a letter to the HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of TAG-Org, in which he stressed that the League of Arab States aims to enhance its administration starting with the ISO 9001 accreditation of the Arab Economic Integration Department through Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. Consulting (TAG-Consult). It was also mentioned that this department will be the first to be ISO certified within the League of Arab States, serving as a role model for other sections and units.

      TAG-Consult will begin its mandate by reviewing the current administrative organizational structure, policies, and procedures, which were previously created by the Arab League of States in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in order to assess the degree of compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. After completion of this initial review, an implementation plan will be developed and implemented to enable the Arab League of States in meeting the requirements of the standard, and that concurrently falls within its framework, rules and regulations.

      The employees at the League of Arab States will be trained on the basics and concepts of quality management systems and the ISO 9001:2015 standard, in order to effectively implement a quality management system that fulfils the department’s objective of Arab Economic Integration.

      This cooperation comes as a continuation of a series of other cooperative work between TAG-Org and the League of Arab States, especially in the fields of Education, Scientific Research, and in dealing with Youth-related challenges and issues.  Such cooperative work is organized through forums, conferences, and workshops, and in compiling Economic Reports. TAG-Org is also a member of the Higher Coordination Committee for the Arab Literacy Decade 2015- 2024.
