    AMMAN ----- May 2th, 2011------ In cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh (TAG) recently held a training course on “Governance and Risk Management” on 20th & 21st of April, 2011.

    The training course focused on the importance of governance for banks, the effects of the global financial crisis, the main frameworks of the risk management, Basel III application, setting up an effective board of directors at the financial institutions, the importance of establishing internal auditing departments, and the role of the management control in financial institutions.

    The delegates who attended the training were Directors, Board Members, and Risk Unit Managers at banks and financial institutions from five Arab states; Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine.

    At the end of the course, participants received Governance and Risk Management certificates from Dr. Majdy Zuriekat, the Administrative and Financial Director at TAGSB and Mr. Yehia El Husseiny, Operations Officer at IFC.
